Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Ford Fusion- Video
Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One trailer wiring harness here on our 2016 Ford Fusion. So what is a trailer wiring harness Now in regards to towing a trailer, there's a couple of required components. We're obviously going to need the trailer hitch as well as the ball mount/hitch ball. We will also need a way to transmit the lighting signals from our vehicle to the trailer. In order to do that, that's where our trailer wiring harness is gonna come into play. So this trailer wiring harness option from Tekonsha is gonna provide us with the most basic style of connector because there are a couple of different options on the market, but most of the smaller trailers we're gonna be towing with this vehicle are almost always gonna have that standard 4-pole flat, which is what this harness provides. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2020 Ford Fusion- Video
Connor: Hey guys, Connor here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness here for our 2020 Ford Fusion. So our T1 wiring harness here is going to provide us with the most basic trailer lighting functions. These functions include four pins, we're going to have one for the ground, we're going to have one for the running light circuit, we're going to have one each for our stop and turn signal circuits.We are towing what our Fusion here. We have a trailer, it's definitely probably going to have lights so we're going to be able to activate those signals and remain legal while we're driving down the highway. So as you can see here the way this harness is initially designed is we're going to have the four-pole connector routed out through the trunk here. more

Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Ford Fusion- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford Fusion, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56351. So, here's what our wiring's gonna look like once we have it installed. Now, this is gonna provide us with a four-pole flat trailer connector that's gonna give us all the required lights to get safely down the road, such as our tail lights, our turn signals, and our brake lights.Now, our wiring is designed to stay on the inside of the car until we're ready to use it, and then in that case, we'll just drop it down through the trunk and we can hook up our trailer. Now, when we're not towing it, we can store our wiring inside of our trunk, either right here on the floor, or if we lift it up, we can store it by our spare tire so it's not gonna be in the way.As far as installation goes, we are gonna have a couple connections behind our tail lights that our harness is gonna plug into. We're not gonna have to cut or splice any kind of factory wiring, and our kit is also gonna have a convertor box, which is gonna make sure that our vehicle is nice and protected if there we're any problems on the trailer end. Now, it's gonna get power from our battery, and that as well is fuse protected, so we're not gonna have to worry about the module having any problems either.So, now that we've seen what the end result is, let's show you how to get it install.To begin our installation, we're gonna need to pull out all the floor coverings from the trunk, and we'll go ahead and set them aside for right now. more

Best 2016 Ford Fusion Trailer Wiring Options- Video
Today we'll be taking a look at your best wiring options on your 2016 Ford Fusion. Here we have our Tekonsha wiring harness, part number 118574, and here we have our Curt wiring harness, part number C56178. This is what our wiring's going to look like when it's all installed. Both wiring harnesses are going to give you a four-pole flat and they're both going to stay inside the trunk when not in use. The nice thing about both these wiring harnesses is they both use module boxes, which is going to protect your vehicle if you have any issues on the trailer side so it won't come back and harm your vehicle. Now, the only main difference between the module boxes is really the size and shape. Now, the Curt module box, it is a rectangle, it's slightly thinner than the Tekonsha, and it does come with double-sided tape so you can install it. Now, the Tekonsha box is similar in the shape, but it is a little bit smaller, but a little bit thicker as well, and also the Tekonsha has a tab here with a hole if you'd like to screw it in mount it. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Ford Fusion- Video
Today on our 2014 Ford Fusion, we're going to be taking a look at the Curt 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number C56178. This is what our wiring is going to look like installed. It is going to stay inside the trunk at all times and what I like to do is simple put it underneath my mat or put it down by the spare tire and whenever I'm ready to use it, simple grab a little bit of wire, stay away from the center, make sure. As you can see, the weather stripping, it has a little bit of give so when you go to close your trunk, it's not going to hurt the wire and we can still pull our wire out to get as much or as little as we need to connect to our trailer. This is going to be everything that comes in the kit, and one of the nice features of this kit is the box. The converter box is going to keep any problems that may happen with your trailer from effecting your vehicle. Another nice feature is the T-connectors. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Ford Fusion- Video
Today in our 2016 Ford Fusion, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number C56302. When we're ready to use our 4-pole flat connector, we'll open up our trunk. We're going to lift up the spare tire cover. We'll take our connector that we wrapped up nicely with our weather-tight cover to use as a little strap around it. We'll bring out the amount of wire we think we're going to need. We're going to lay it across the sill plate here, and our weather strip's going to take up the access, so it's not going to harm it. As long as you stay away from the center here where our latch is, we should have no issues.We're ready to plug it into our trailer. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Ford Fusion- Video
Today on our 2008 Ford Fusion, we're going to install the Towready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with Four Pull Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118422. To start our install we'll go ahead and open up our trunk. First we're going to go ahead, raise up the trunk liner here and just tuck it up here out of the way so we can get access to the side panels here and where our wiring is. So let's take this, you fold it up a little bit, it'll tuck it up out of the way. Now we need to go ahead and remove our threshold, there's a few push fasteners here, there's one here, there's two here on the lower part, and one over here on the side, so we'll go ahead and take those out with a trim panel remover tool or if you have a large flat blade screwdriver you can get underneath it and pop that out, so we're going to remove those and then we can move our threshold out of place. You just got to work them out, sometimes they pop out, sometimes they put up a little bit of a fight but they will come out if you just work back and forth. Just go ahead and set those aside, and before you can get your threshold free there are two more push fasteners here, right here, and on the other side, they do kind of blend in, you'll be able to see them, trim panel tool there and pop it free. And then we take our trim panel tool here, get it underneath the edge of our threshold and pop it free, and once you get all of this free, as you can see there's just these tabs here that clip in to the body, once you get it popped free you can just take your threshold and set it out of the way. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 Ford Fusion- Video
Today in our 2015 Ford Fusion, we're going to review and install the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness. Part number 118574. Now, to use your new 4 pole trailer connector, simply open up the rear trunk, the spare tire cover and we'll pull it out from where it's stored next to the spare tire. Now, we can simply run it out and over the threshold staying away from the trunk latch but knowing that the weather stripping is thick enough that we can simply close the rear trunk on our 4-pole connector. We'll run it down to our e-trailer accessory and then once we're finished, we can simply roll it up and store it down with a spare tire making it a really nice feature that it stores inside the vehicle and outside of the elements that can cause wear and tear on our 4-pole connector. Next, I'm going to show you how you install the Tow Ready 4-pole trailer connector. Now, to begin our install, we're going to open up the rear trunk and remove the spare tire cover. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Ford Fusion C56178- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Fusion we'll be installing the CURT t-connector vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number C56178. To begin our install we'll first go ahead and open up the trunk and remove the spare tire cover. Now with the spare tire cover out of the way we'll need to remove the rear threshold. The rear threshold is held in by two push pin fasteners, one on each side. Once we remove the two fasteners we'll then pull up on the threshold and release the fasteners underneath. We'll need to gain access behind the taillight assemblies so we'll remove the two cargo hooks on each side. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Ford Fusion- Video
Today on our 2009 Ford Fusion, we'll be installing the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number 118422. To begin our install, we'll first open up the rear trunk. Next, we'll remove the spare tire cover, go ahead and pull it out of the vehicle and set it aside for reinstallation later. Our next step will be removing the rear threshold. To remove the rear threshold, we'll need to remove the pushpin fasteners that secure it. There's a total of six fasteners, three on each side. You can use a flat blade screwdriver or if you have an interior trim panel tool will assist in removing these fasteners. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Ford Fusion- Video
Today on our 2011 Ford Fusion, well be installing the Tow-Ready T1 connector part number 118422. First were going to open up the rear cargo door then were going to remove the spare tire cover. This will allow us access to all the fasteners that will need to be removed to remove the rear threshold. Lets go ahead and remove those fasteners now. Now with all our fasteners removed, well gently pull up on the rear threshold and pop it free as there are four remaining fasteners attached to the body. After we go ahead and remove the threshold, well go ahead and show you those fasteners. more

Today on this 2012 Ford Fusion, were going to install part number 118422 from Tow-Ready. First thing we need to do, is go ahead and open the trunk and get access to the wiring on the inside. Were going to undo the threshold and uninstall the interior panels. Were going to remove the threshold here by popping up the plastic rivets. One, two, three, four of them. Theres two more rivets underneath the floor mat that wed have to remove. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation- 2010 Ford Fusion- Video
Today on this 2010 Ford Fusion we are going to install part number 118422 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do is get inside the trunk area of the vehicle and remove some of the interior components. Go ahead and lift the floor and get it out of the way. Next, we need to remove the rear threshold right here. Remove the plastic rivets that hold everything in place. With everything loosened we can pull straight up on the threshold.
